Upcoming Programs
Pursuit of Happiness Free Family Day
Join us for a Free Family Day celebrating happiness and what happiness means to us personally, inspired by the Frazier’s America250 exhibition Pursuit of Happiness! Experience the Pursuit of Happiness exhibition firsthand, as you and your families explore and discover the stories of thirteen historical figures who lived during 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed. With admission to the event, you and your family can engage in a series of hands-on crafts and activities provided by the Frazier’s Education team. You can participate in museum-wide scavenger hunts, take guided tours, and meet various vendors. You can witness the many wonders of Kentucky and the happiness it brings to both residents and travelers during a screening of KentuckyShow! in our Brown-Forman Theatre. Plus, you can explore all three floors of museum exhibitions, including Aflora and Davis Jewelers’ Love & Marriage! The Frazier Kentucky History Museum’s Pursuit of Happiness Free Family Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We’ll see you there!
Back To School: KY History Homeschool Day
Come celebrate the start of another school year and learn some Kentucky history alongside other homeschool families! There will be something for everyone including access to all the Frazier’s immersive exhibitions, prize drawings, tours, craft & activity tables, and more!
In addition, families will have several opportunities to experience one of our newest educational presentations, “The Longest Painting in the World.” This 25-minute multimedia performance of music, imagery, and live storytelling is about a 19th century man named John Banvard, who painted the longest painting in the world, right here in Kentucky.
Spooky Saturday Family Day
On October 21, visit the museum for an afternoon of Halloween-themed fun. From 11am–2pm, we’ll have themed activities, guests, and performances. David Domine will tell stories from his Louisville Historic Tours and Victorian Ghost Walk. We’ll have a special edition of “Dish With Tish,” with Tish Boyer (our Manager of Collections Engagement) showing-and-telling about uncanny artifacts from our collection. We’ll have family-friendly music and crafts, and we’ll conclude the afternoon with an all-ages puppet and variety show. Costumes encouraged!
Event and activity stations open at 11:00 am. Spooky Tours and Scavenger Hunts happen throughout the afternoon.
Holiday Family Day
There’s so much to celebrate in the winter--including this being the first Holiday Family Day since 2019! Join us for a fun-filled day of crafts, kid-friendly tours, performances and special storytimes to celebrate the start of the holiday season. In the spirit of giving, we will be offering free admission in exchange for a toy donation to Clothe the West’s Holiday Shop.
