120: Cool KY Counties on the Road
120: Cool KY Counties on the Road is coming to a county near you!
120: Cool KY Counties on the Road is a traveling exhibit that features hundreds of stories from across the Commonwealth—including histories, legends, locations, songs, and oral traditions, all curated at the local level. Frazier staff will be present at every stop to lead exploration of the exhibit, learn more about community history, and teach visitors how to preserve their own history.
While the 120: Cool KY Counties project was created by the Frazier, it’s not about the Frazier—it’s about the people who make up this great Commonwealth. The project goal is to promote Kentucky pride, education, tourism, economic impact, collaboration, and shared respect for one another. Through partnership and participation, this traveling exhibit can help bridge the urban-rural divide.
This traveling exhibit will feature a sprinter van replicating the 120 exhibit experience at the Frazier. It will include touchscreens, photo ops, directed speakers, artifacts, and facilitators who will help visitors explore the interactive. It will roll to every county and every corner of the state attending festivals, fairs, concerts, firework shows, libraries, and schools.
Along with the traveling exhibit, the Frazier will launch a 120: Cool KY Counties curriculum that can be delivered in person or virtually to schools. Our goal is that our fellow Kentuckians see their commonality while still maintaining their individuality.
The Frazier Kentucky History Museum strongly believes that every county possesses unique and incredible stories that should be shared with the rest of Kentucky (and beyond).
Kentucky is cool, y’all, and we are ready to roll!
