RESPONSIBLE TO: Sr. Manager of 120
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
The manager of 120 serves as a facilitator and ambassador for the Frazier Kentucky History Museum and our 120: Cool KY Counties On the Road experience. The traveling mobile exhibition highlights stories, songs and more from each county in Kentucky. The position is responsible for engaging with visitors and facilitating the interactive traveling exhibit throughout the state.
The Manager of 120 will also be responsible for oversight of vehicle, travel logistics and exhibit components. You may be called into action on other outreach programs as well as some duties that may arise in the museum. This position will also assist the Sr. Manager of 120 when needed with programming, partnerships, and logistics for off-site events. This is a forward-facing position that requires an engaging personality and excellent skills in customer service.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Facilitate 120: Cool KY Counties on the Road to deepen the visitors’ experiences when engaging with the interactive exhibit throughout the state
Travel to off-site locations including schools, community events, libraries, festivals, and partner organizations
Responsible for set-up and exhibit readiness when arriving at a new site
Establishes a strong understanding of the museum and Kentucky history to be able to answer general questions by guests and engage with them about our stories and history
Oversee exhibit setup, transportation logistics, maintenance, and breakdown procedures
Provides excellent customer service
Troubleshoot minor technical or exhibit issues during programs and events
Collect attendance data, visitor feedback, and program observations as requested
SECONDARY DUTIES:
Conduct staff engagement tours within the museum as assigned when not at off-site engagements
Assist Education team with fieldtrips, outreaches, camps, and family days as assigned
Be available to facilitate a Stories in Mind program
Assist with floor operations, visitor safety, and including but not limited to the cleaning/disinfecting of exhibits and program materials, during assigned shifts, and special events/programs, and museum rentals.

SCHEDULE:
This position requires a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays depending on exhibit programming and travel needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
College coursework or degree in museum studies, education, history, theater, communications, public history, or related field preferred
Experience working with the public, children, families, or community groups preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to speak confidently to groups and facilitate interactive experiences
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Flexible, dependable, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
Comfortable with travel and working at off-site locations
Basic proficiency with computers, tablets, and audiovisual equipment preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Must adhere to appropriate dress code
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, carry, push, or move exhibit materials and equipment up to 40 pounds
Ability to load and unload supplies and assist with exhibit installation and breakdown
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in museums, camps, theater, education, or informal learning environments
Experience facilitating hands-on activities or public programs
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
Enthusiasm for history, culture, storytelling, and community engagement
