As the US celebrates its 250th year, our Frazier250 exhibits, events, and programs throughout 2026 are thoughtfully and creatively crafted so every Kentuckian will see themselves as part of that history.
Pursuit of Happiness is a dynamic hands-on experience inspired by the immortal words from 1776. Through engaging activities like secret codes, tabletop games, and other types of play, visitors uncover how everyday people worked towards freedom and pursued happiness in their own ways. The exhibition also breaks down the language of the Declaration of Independence itself, revealing the lasting impact of this revolutionary document on our lives and ideals.
Cool Kentucky® is designed to bring the state to life in all of its many facets. The exhibit inspires thought, provides insight, and brings understanding about who we are, how we came to be, and where we can go. Those who experience it will be motivated to see Kentucky for themselves — taking in the state’s many attractions, sights, sounds, and tastes, from north to south and east to west.
The Frazier Kentucky History Museum strongly believes that every county possesses a unique and incredible story deserving to be shared with the rest of Kentucky (and beyond). Premised on this conviction, the 120: Cool KY Counties project is collecting hundreds of stories from across the Commonwealth—including histories, legends, and oral traditions curated at the local level.

Updated in 2024, KentuckyShow! explores the ways in which Kentucky’s past, present, and choices for the future converge to create an utterly unique and engaging place. Featuring an array of objects, replicas, and walk-in installations, The Commonwealth: Divided We Fall takes visitors on a winding journey through the lives of everyday Kentuckians, from pre-settlement to the early 1900s.
The Stewart Historic Miniatures Collection at the Frazier Kentucky History Museum is one of the largest collections of historic miniatures on permanent public display in the world.
Visitors of all ages are taken on an immersive, educational adventure that puts them face-to-face with some of the many challenges encountered by the Corps of Discovery, seeking passage to the northwest. Visitors forge rivers and cross mountains while encountering new people, cultures, and fantastic new species of animals. There are several artifacts from the period and detailed explanations on how and why they were used by the expedition.
On March 9, 2018, the Frazier Kentucky History Museum opened the Founder’s Gallery, a permanent addition dedicated to the museum’s founder, local philanthropist Owsley Brown Frazier.
The Frazier’s permanent collection features a wide array of historically significant artifacts of American, American Indian, Asian, and European origin. Rare and noteworthy objects include Teddy Roosevelt’s “Big Stick,” Geronimo’s bow and arrows, a surplus grave marker from the Battle of Little Bighorn, a first edition copy of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and the arrest warrant issued for Mary Todd Lincoln.
