Exploring History at The Frazier

The primary emphasis of The Frazier is education. Education programs at the Frazier Museum are designed to spark “wonderment,” that certain type of curiosity or rapt attention at something that is new or unfamiliar. Wonderment works by providing students with the ability and insight to ask questions and seek additional information.

At The Frazier, we stress learning through observation—providing opportunities for students to explore our exhibits and collections. We’ve designed a museum experience that, instead of being passive, is active, and where engaged participation is encouraged. Museums are traditionally places where objects are collected, stored, displayed and maintained. By combining interactive displays, state-of-the-art multi-media presentations, dynamic performances by interpreters in period clothing, and thoughtfully-crafted education programs, a school trip to The Frazier brings history to life! Programs are carefully tailored to align with national and state core content assessment standards. Gallery investigation guides are designed to be fun while helping students successfully prepare for Kentucky CATS and other standardized tests.
