When George Washington was sworn in as the first President of the United States in 1789, he initially used the name, "His High Mightiness, the President of the United States and Protector of their Liberties." Critics charged that it smacked of monarchy and Washington consented that the title be altered to "Mr. President."

Guests must show proof of residency in Kentucky or Indiana, such as a driver’s license or alternate ID while purchasing tickets. Others in the party will also receive the $5 admission, a substantial savings over $9 – $13 regular ticket prices. The special offer cannot be combined with other discounts, and does not apply to special tours or events.
