Each of the suits in a deck of cards represents the four major pillars of the economy in the Middle Ages. Heart represented the Church; Spades represented the military; Clubs represented agriculture; and Diamonds represented the merchant class.

Through the Frazier Museum’s Historic Interpretations Department, we bring some of Poe’s best known works to the stage for a live show like you’ve never seen before. This year, eight Poe tales will be presented, including six poems and two short stories:

- The Murders in the Rue Morgue
- Spirits of the Dead
- Alone
- The City in the Sea
- The Bells
- The Masque of the Red Death
- Dream Within a Dream
