Message from the Chairman
Greetings from the Frazier Museum.
As I write this message, I’m watching Barrett Cooper, Manager of The Frazier’s Interpretive Program portray a 11th century knight during the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Barrett’s character is quite simply awe-inspiring and the interpretation experience educational beyond compare.
In fact, did you know that Duke William of Normandy left St. Valery in Normandy with over 600 ships and 10,000+ men for the first ever such battle on English soil? Well, I did not and would not have if it weren’t for the efforts of Mr. B.J. Davis, Manager of Education for The Frazier. Under his direction, the Frazier’s interpretive programs truly bring history alive and are just one of the outstanding educational programs that B.J. and his staff provide to Frazier guests. School children of all ages (including us adults) are sure to find something to satisfy her or his tastes.
With over 1000 years of history, hundreds of objects, and countless stories, The Frazier provides its guests with an educational experience of a lifetime. And you know what the Frazier Team believes: education should last a lifetime.
Speaking of which, did you know that the battle between Duke William’s Normans and Harold’s Saxons lasted over 6 hours and resulted in three centuries of Norman rule? If not, we would love for you to visit The Frazier and join my colleagues in the discovery of U.S. and U.K. history which the Wall Street Journal recently described as, “a riveting journey through time.”
Sincerely,

Owsley Brown Frazier
